[DIY]

Hello readers ! hope you all are enjoying the Summer time :-)
Here I am with another Sewing project. This time I have the finished product in a day.
I wanted to renew my sewing skills and here I go full on with this simple yet colorful project.

In this post, I shall show you how to make a simple pin cushion. For all those sewing enthusiasts, this might prove to be a good start and a handy tool for your sewing projects !!!
Let's get started.

You can choose to use any piece of colorful cotton fabric. Printed ones would look better than plain ones.
I got my hands on some old cross stitched piece of cloth. This would be almost 12 yrs old ;-)
I really had a lot of patience back then. Glad that it is going to prove it's worth today.

First, I cut the piece of cloth (luckily I had enough of it to finish this project).

Then stitch a square on all four sides, leaving a small space (about 2 inches) on one corner, just enough to stuff the cotton or nylon stuffing in.
Make sure that the right sides are put together when you stich the edges. Do not forget to leave enough seam allowance while sewing. Using the opening, reverse the bag and press for a neat look.

Stuff the bag evenly with cotton/ nylon stuffing to form a small cusion. Use a chopstick or a blunt pencil to poke the corners into shape before filling in.

Once nicely full, hand stitch the opening from outside.  (I have stitched the complete side, just to make it look like a design ). I have used a contrast thread to make it look colorful. Alternatively, you can choose a self color thread conceal the hand stitch.

Your colorful pin cushion is ready to be used. Keep your pins handy with this 'easy to do' pin cushion and have loads of fun sewing !
